1. Completed All Her Education In India
Unlike her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has completed all her education in India. She did her schooling from the modern School and The Convent of Jesus of Mary. Later on, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the prestigious Jesus and Mary College, South Campus, University of Delhi. In 2010, she obtained an M.A degree in Buddhist Studies. Notable people like Scholar Usha Sanyal, Bollywood Actress Neha Dhupia and National Tennis player Manika Batra are also a product of the Jesus and Mary college.
2. Follower of Buddhism and a Regular meditator
During an Interview Session with the news Channel NDTV, she confessed of spending 10 days in vipassana meditation in the year 1999 just after two years of her marriage. The reason stated by her was “so that I better know what my own mind is, rather than what other people want of me.”
Priyanka Gandhi has converted and follows Buddhism. She is a practitioner of Vipassana as taught by S. N. Goenka.
3. Family Woman
In 1997, Priyanka Gandhi got married to Robert Vadra, a businessman from New Delhi. The wedding comprised of traditional Hindu ceremonies. They have two children; a son Raihan and a daughter Miraya.
4. Not her First Time In Politics
The 47-year-old managed her mother Sonia Gandhi’s campaign during the 2004 general elections and has also admitted to writing speeches for her.
Priyanka has played an instrumental role in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi and Rae Bareli regions, both Congress strongholds, during assembly and Lok Sabha polls. In fact, during the 2007 assembly polls, she reportedly had played a major role in suppressing in-fighting within Congress over seat-allocation.
