Lucknow Metro is about to begin its next phase of commercial operations connecting new areas of Lucknow and making the life of commuters easier and happier.
The first trial run of Lucknow Metro was flagged by the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav in December 2016. The commercial run of the 1st phase of Lucknow Metro operations was shown green flag by current Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in September 2017.
Now Lucknow is getting all ready to witness and welcome the next phase of commercial run of its metro services on the full 23 km route from CCS Airport to Munshipulia (Indiranagar). Here are some important facts to keep in mind.

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) is giving its metro trains final testing procedures before the start of the commercial run on the whole North-South corridor (CCS Airport to Munshipulia) expected by March 2019. Testings being done include load testing; Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) system testing and Signaling Integrated testing.

Lucknow Metro has state-of-the-art communication based train control system. The signaling system is equipped with automatic train supervision facility to avert any mishap. With the start of the next phase of Lucknow Metro operations, the total number of metro stations in the city will be 21. All the stations in the next phase of operations starting from Charbagh to Munshipulia are currently being constructed with speed to meet their deadlines. Finishing touches are also being given to many metro stations where infrastructure work is complete.
